Dan Murphy began playing music at the
age of 8, and has played professionally
for more than 28 years; he currently
plays drums, bass guitar, rhythm guitar,
lead guitar, and steel guitar. Before
joining Deuce Eleven as a steel guitarist,
Dan played in bands such as Murphy’s
Law and Raging River, and also played
for Rich McCready for two years. When
asked about his musical philosophy, Dan
replied, “I am a musician and it is an
addiction that there is no cure for. Music
is what I’m about…it is what I do. It is a
gift from God and nothing can stop me
from playing except God himself.”
In his spare time, Dan enjoys restoring
old Cadillacs and other classic cars.
Married to wife Eva for 20 years, Dan is
the proud grandfather of 3, and is a long-
time resident of Miami, Oklahoma.
